Passaic Public Library

Very nice library. Very peaceful. Great selection of materials. Nice staff. Love the original setting of the building. The history of it all; from the layout, to the hallways, the restroom. Makes me feel as if I was back in elementary school. O and I love the many hand sanitizers displays they have. I only wish they were opened a bit later throughout the entire week.

I have always gone to this library ever since I was young however the staff they have nowadays are absolutely disgusting human beings. The establishment openly encourages racism and discrimination. Everytime a person who isn't white comes into the library they are immediately looked at with disgust and are rudely talked to. This behavior isn't correct, I have even seen children who come to the library be disrespected in this manner. This city has a diverse population and if the staff and some other clients don't like that then they are welcomed to leave

It's not the best and it's not the worse. It's pretty small compared to the Clifton library and the Paterson library. Some of the female staff are a little stand offish to certain demographics like they don't smile but they will help you. I don't feel as comfortable as I do in other libraries but it will do when I don't have other options.

The library does not closes at 8:00 PM on a Wednesday as it shows on the posted schedule. They close at 7:50 PM. They don't allow any one in after 7:50 PM even if library card holder knows what they intend to check out. The male library staff personally mans the entrance, locking the door at 7:50 PM and telling everyone the computer to check out the books shut down at 7:50 PM. Rude staff. Poor public service.

We love this library so much. Everyone who works here is so kind and knowledgeable. I've only ever had good experiences here.
