Peach County Public Works Department

Peach County Planning and Zoning are the most crooked department. They approve a development in 2005 in which the engineering plans stated there was a flooding issue. They built about 5 houses on the dry lots and never did anything about the water issue because the lots were vacant and not being used. Fast forward to 2020 and 5 Lots are sold to LaLoma Construction. The homes were built some on the flooding lots. Apparently NO Engineering plan was made and the 2005 plans were not even looked at because over the years people come and go. Planning and Zoning is the most unorganized and corrupt department. On the original plans for this development there was a retention pond. No pond was installed. Instead they built a $350,000 home so someone got paid off to allow building on these lots.

Apparently, Peach County takes your money and doesn't deliver on services. I called them at the end of February to pick up tree limbs debris was told someone would be out. Called again the 2nd and 3rd week in March with no response. Called mid April and I was told my pickup was not within their policies. I had to pay someone to remove the debris.

Moved in house on June 1. Thought trash outside road would be automatically picked up. Not the case. Call July 9, in reference to pick up. I was told a work order was put in. Called back on July 20th for update on pickup. Another work order was put in. Still no pickup. Just called again about this issue, was told another work order was put in and it will probably be next week when pickup is done. It's been over 2 months and no trash pickup. SMH i see why people complain about this service.

Garbage pick up is awful, rarely show up on pick up day. I have had to call the director of Public Works and get one excuse after another. I have been told it isn't their job and they contract it out and don't have a way of getting in touch with the company they contracted for garbage services. A complete waste of tax payer money!
