Pedro's Tacos

Excellent breakfast burrito spot close to San Clemente Beach. There’s one bench in front of the order counter but no other tables or chairs to sit and dine. Looks like a to go place. Breakfast burrito with steak, egg, and cheese (with no beans) was $14.20. House made salsa was on point. Highly recommend.

Still the same surf shack that I've enjoyed since I was a child. The food and service are excellent. Located in the heart of San Clemente CA so the atmosphere is second to none. The only issue that I and most others who ate there 3+ decades ago have with Pedro's is that the prices have skyrocketed since those days. What was once ¢99 is now $7.00! A order that was once $10.00 is now $45.00/$50.00. Also the fact that it's credit card only may cause issues for those who are looking to eat using physical cash.

UPDATE: I ended up getting food poisoning from something in this horrible meal. Spent two days in bed unable to spend time with people I wanted to visit. And another few days getting back to normal. Never. Again. Hard pass. Damn - wanted to love this. Pro: the side of guacamole was generous on the avocado. Fish in fish taco was crispy and well fried with good texture. Con: Fish taco and shrimp taco were smothered in some mayo based cream that tasted like tartar. Not the legit cream/crema which is thicker, smoother and more subtle in flavor. The cream tartar and loads of cabbage overwhelmed the fish and shrimp. Tortillas were cold not toasted. The shrimps were cold and not grilled. I didn’t get any lime or lemon wedges on the side.

Place just keeps getting worse and worse . Just got a quesadilla with pretty much no cheese . Like how hard is it for these workers to do their job . It’s a quesadilla cheese is literally the main component of the meal . Y’all are a joke at this point

UPDATE no more famous crispy beef taco!!!! What is happening this was not what I expected and not worth it because the crispy beef taco was everything! I got an asada and a fish taco this time and it was yummy but much more expensive. Taco Tuesday at Pedro's Tacos get a crispy taco shredded beef chicken or potato for only $1.69. each they taste just like homemade crispy tacos. the beef ones were delicious. They use Heinz taco sauce if you want hot sauce they will throw a bunch of packets in your bag.
