Penn's Restaurant

This place is. Probably one of those rare finds in Mississippi l. Like you wouldn’t expect it to be good but surprisingly it is pretty got buy looks a bit dated from the outward appearances. The fish and shrimp were really good just too breaded. The service was great as wel, the manager was very friendly and upbeat

Tasty food and open pretty late for the area. The employees were polite and served me quickly which was really nice. Overall no complaints from me and will eat there again when my fiancee is wanting fried fish or fried tomatoes. I had the grilled catfish and it was good as well.

I hate to give Penn's 3 stars since I want to boost local businesses, but charging $18 for 4 small pieces of catfish just isn't right, especially in this economy. The fish is good, just too pricy, especially for a gas station restaurant in McComb MS. Not knocking McComb, but great fried catfish can be had in several places there at a much better price. Example? I could have gotten the all-you-can-eat buffet at Mr. Whiskers for another dollar more. Catfish Corner in Jayess gives you twice the fish (at least) for $13.49. I have frequented Penn's in the past, trying to support local restaurants, but can't see going back.

This is the best damn food in Mississippi. Order the butterfly shrimp hush puppies and fried okra. Bout $18.00 and will feed two! Pepsi products, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce to boot. Bout a 10-15 minute wait for fresh hot food. Well worth the wait!

I’ve been there a few times, always as to-go & always fried fish. The wait on the last time was longer than usual because they were busier than usual, but it was still very good.
