We came to this restaurant in Philadelphia Chinatown because we were craving something warm and comforting, and this place exceeded our expectations in every way! We ordered the satay beef noodle soup, the Vietnamese sour & spicy fish soup, and a BBQ pork chop on the side — thinking it would be a light meal. We were so wrong! The portions were absolutely massive — especially the pork chop. In New York, the same serving could easily be split into two (maybe even three!) portions. Most importantly, everything tasted fantastic. The satay noodle soup was incredibly flavorful with spices I hadn’t tried before — a very pleasant surprise. Best Thai restaurant in the area. Very long wait but totally worth it. You know the food is amazing when everyone is coming here. Very fresh and delicious. High quality and tasty, great prices. Highly recommend.

Best Pad Thai anywhere! Pho Xe Lua has been consistently serving the best Pad Thai I've ever had, for years, and everyone I've taken there has agreed. This humble little place, at 907 Race St in Philly, has ruined Pad Thai for me anywhere else, so be warned. Very reasonable prices.
