The pho is the star of the show, and rightfully so. The broth is rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly simmered for hours. It's the kind of broth that warms you from the inside out, perfect for a chilly Boston day. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and with generous portions of tender meat. Beyond the pho, their menu boasts a range of other Vietnamese favorites. The spring rolls are fresh and crisp, and the beef vermicelli is packed with flavor. What truly sets Pho 2000 apart is the genuine hospitality. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like a welcomed guest in their home. If you're looking for a no-frills, authentic Vietnamese meal in Dorchester, look no further than Pho 2000. You'll leave feeling full, satisfied, and eager to return.
If you love fried catfish and don’t mind rolling it yourself, it’s delicious here! It’s definitely a mom-and-pop spot. Service can be a bit slow, so don’t come in hangry.
Given there are so many Vietnamese options in the area, I'd not come back here. Their bánh bèo could have use a bit more cooking time, and the fish sauce is not great, a little too sour for bánh bèo. Phở is very standard, on the sweet side. They do serve bò 7 món, which could be promising.
Visited the restaurant for its 7-courses of beef. In late evening of a workday, the place was not crowded and had tables available right away, no need for reservation in advance. As we knew what to order prior to arrival, we placed order immediately, and got it served very quick. We got our hands pretty busy to cook the beef and wrap with rice paper, together with rice-noodles, veggies. The combination of beef, rice-noodles, and veggies wrapped in rice-paper, then dipped in special fish-sauce just gives a kick to palates.
We had a party of 8 adults and 1 child. We ordered 2 catfish 1 pho 2 sodas 1 limeade and 1 che ba Mau. The bill came to $200. I don't know how much the cost of each catfish was because my son treated all of us. The cat fish was nicely deep fried. We would take pieces of the meat wrap it in rice paper with noodles and vegetables (like making spring rolls) and then dip it in their dipping sauce. It was delicious! Their pho was ok.
