Pioneers Meats - Boerne

Do yourself a favor and check out Pioneer Meats today! We have stopped by twice in the past week and both times it has been a great experience. Both times the staff have been very courteous and personable. The first time we stopped in to try their meat pies and sandwiches (picture included). The peri peri chicken sandwich was great, the bread is supper soft and light, the chicken was tender and moist and the peri peri marinade was amazing - so flavorful and spicy. Of the 3 pies we tried, we liked the chicken and mushroom pie the best though the steak and kidney and the peppered steak pies were also quite tasty. Great deli and South African meat market. I tried the spicy peri peri grilled chicken sandwich that was tender and full of flavor.

Excellent sandwiches and lunch spot. The quality and taste of the meat was amazing and the team (including the owners) were helpful and friendly. The peri-peri was great if you like a touch of heat. I also recommend the Cowboy Biltong (a tender variation of beef jerky).

I am thrilled that I took a chance on trying out biltong from Pioneer Meats. Brett helped me out and I left with orders from three different kind of meats. They are so delicious! I will definitely be going back weekly to get more. The little store inside has so many gourmet options to pick up for gifts or to jazz up your charcuterie board. I highly recommend!

Took a caravan of friends and family, some born on African soil and some married in, and without question this was an amazing experience. A delightful treat, Brett, Victor and everyone was amazing. Our youngest generation was educated on "regte" droewors and biltong, Appletiser, boere fudge, lekkers, meat pies, and more. Proper PADKOS. Worth the scenic drive. Dankie julle!
