About Pizzeria Serio
My Pizza was inspired by the pizzaiolos that immigrated to America from Italy and opened the first Pizzerias in NYC, many of which are still in existence today. I like to call it NeapolAmerican, but some might call it NY Style or New Haven style, but... More

We had the Diavola pizza and the hot sopressata with red onions were crispy and perfectly balanced heat versus sweet. The crust was fired crisp and had small black char marks. 100% The kids had a pep/cheese and no complaints were heard. Even the picky child was happy. The art history brewing krausen lager was slightly carbonated, light and crisp. It hit the spot after a long Saturday workday. We ordered the large spinach salad. The walnuts and crumbled goat cheese paired well together.
We went while we were in town last week. We positively loved it. We had a margherita pie, a sweet heat pie and split an arugula salad. Plus, we had some solid cocktails from the bar (they are only $5 on Thursdays!!). The crust on the pizza was the most memorable thing for us. It's a perfect balance between Neapolitan airiness / char and New York structure / chew. I crave it just thinking about it. The tomato sauce was bright and fresh. Plus, they use Grande' mozzarella from WI which shows a commitment to quality. The "large" salad was big enough to split 3 ways (but we still found a way to finish it). The dressing on the salad was nicely balanced (lemon, oil, salt, cheese). I wish it was a "tossed salad" and not "dressing on the side" but I say that at nearly every restaurant. The secon
Picked up a pizza on Halloween- they were SO busy but only a 30 min wait for the pizza and the service was so kind and efficient! A bit expensive but quality pizza- good soft and chewy crust and crispy bottom. Not too greasy either! Will be back- great Roscoe Village spot!
Feb 2025 Ambience was casual, went on a Wednesday night. Great service. Food did not wow us- got the pesto margherita pizza and the goat cheese dip. The pizza lacked flavor. However their dough so great. Would not come back because there are so many better pizza places in Chicago!
Great pizza! They are currently doing takeout only. We ordered the sweet heat and the big cheese. I personally like the sweet heat the best but both were packed with flavor. The sausage had a nice spice to it. The crust was cooked to perfection. It's more traditional Italian style. Would definitely orde from them again. The staff was great!
