I work for Harvard University's IT department so I'm always walking by Playa Bowls to and from my appointments. I figured I should try Playa Bowls since many of my colleagues have said good things (I've never had an acai bowl ever) about Playa Bowls. The store itself was clean and seemed like a nice place to work as well on the go. After a few questions before I ordered (the young girl with the tattoos did a great job answering my questions), I settled with the Nutella acai bowl. I brought it to back to my office next door and my first impressions were great. It was beautifully made and I loved every bite. I'm not much a fruits eater and more of a meat person, but this is perfect to get in my fruit and oats nutrients. After finishing the bowl, my body felt great and I felt pretty happy w
Great spot for açai bowls and smoothies! Everything is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!
Delicious and fresh acai bowls. We tried the nutella and power acai bowl and they were great. Only negative is the extremely loud sound of blenders. It was acting during ordering and while eating. Too loud.
A refreshing acai experience in Harvard Square. On Sunday mornings, I occasionally go on Acai bowl runs to try different bowls from local spots around Boston. Since Playa Bowls is a nationwide chain, I haven’t had the chance to visit until recently. With its light blue walls and rustic wooden tables, Playa Bowls felt like a mini-getaway to a Hawaiian beach cafe, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the acai bowl options here are much more diverse than other local places I’ve been to. I tried the Power Acai and the Electric Mermaid, and both were great. While the toppings were not particularly unique, their simplicity and the mildly-sweet smoothie bases resulted in a satisfying and well-balanced bowl. I especially enjoyed the combination of kiwi, pineapple, and coconut flakes w
Update trying to avoid erythritol so sadly no more acai base til recipe is changed. I usually always get a half Acai base today I did pitaya a d passionfruit So good almost didn't get a pic Just had a Great experience courtesy of Aniya!! I was over tired and she was so kind! She was so sweet I asked them to skip the honey! Trying out the new passion fruit with a coupon Woo Hoo! Love that Playa Bowl allows you to mix bases. Instead of just blending them together they do a kind of young yang pattern so you can combined to your liking. In my opinion it doesn't just make it more aesthetically pleasing but also provides an optimal taste experience! Valeria runs a great location. She and Aniya are high caliber and the gentlemen making the bowls do a wonderful job 💕
