Playa Hermosa Fish & Oyster Co.

I visited Playa Hermosa Fish & Oyster Co. recently and honestly had a really lovely experience. The food was fresh, the salmon was great, and everyone there was so kind and welcoming. The only thing I didn’t love was the pasta — it tasted a bit doughy and needed more seasoning. But everything else was honestly wonderful. The mashed potatoes were my favorite part — the little hint of coconut oil made them taste so special. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would come back again.

It is a nice-looking place and atmosphere near Hermoso Beach. The service was decent. The food tasted good. The price for 2 fish tacos was a rip-off, in my opinion. Platter of calamari was smaller than I expected. The oysters were okay, very small in size. The price didn't match the quantity of food at all.

I’ve been dining here for eight years, and it has never disappointed. There are so many reasons I keep coming back. First, the food. It’s consistently delicious every single time. My personal favorites are the lobster mac ’n’ cheese, mussels, fish and chips, and the lobster bisque. Everything is flavorful, fresh, and prepared with care. Second, the bar. The drinks are perfectly balanced—strong enough to enjoy, but never overpowering. There’s nothing worse than ordering a cocktail that tastes like juice with zero kick. That definitely doesn’t happen here. The El Chapo margarita (along with many others I’ve tried) will have you feeling warm and fuzzy after the first sip! The location is another huge plus. Ideally placed on Hermosa beach this restaurant offers a good menu, of course mainly fish and seafood oriented, however they do offer also a couple of vegetarian options such as their green veggie curry. They also have a decent lobster roll and swordfish sandwich. Good service, and great location. A bit pricey but you pay the location and terrace sightseeing…
