This is my second time eating here and I am disappointed this time around. First time was great, had their wings and they were delicious! This time around I decided to try the quarter chicken with rice, beans and sweet plantains. The yellow rice and pigeon peas were flavorless. Besides the ganudules in the rice, there was nothing Latin about it. Some of the rice was hard and other parts mushy. The chicken I do not believe was cooked all the way through, as it had some pink spots and the texture was weird. Very jelly/rubbery like. Maybe over cooked? The sweet plantains were cooked perfectly though. While I do love to support local businesses, there are better Latin places to eat in the area.
The best juicy chicken ( dominican/ colombian blend seasoning). 💯 % recomended. We ordered a whole chicken for $28 and it came with cilantro rice, black beans, corn and French fries. I do not eat rice, but it was so good that I ate a little bit. Hubby ate 3 servings. The place is located inside Henry's Depot in Sanford, FL. We ate inside the plaza. Plenty of tables when we were there, however , we can see that they may run out tables as the restaurant gets popular beacause is so good. (The tables there are for all of the restaurants in the plaza.)
Had been wanting to try it since I heard they were opening. It was a pretty good experience/meal. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, idk why I expected it to have a more "wood firery" flavor but it was still really good. Pinto beans were my favorite part of the meal, very nice flavor. The yellow rice (arroz con gandules) was decent, not bad but could use a bit more sofrito and another pinch of salt. Will definitely stop by again.
The wings are great. Fries are hot and salty but not too much. Andrew is an excellent cook a d he remembers cusotm we rs abd what they like. Funny guy with a great personality. Make some time to go and enjoy the great food and service at Pollo al fuego. Thank you.
Wings and flat bread were delicious. Service was outstanding, one chicken we got was a little salty and he was super apologetic, and gave us extra food and didn’t want to charge for anything after that. definitely would go back for wings and the service
