Pomponio State Beach

Easy to park and reach the beach. Had a fun time. Less popular than others making it less crowded.

We stopped here on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It was foggy, and except for a few birds, completely empty—such a cool and peaceful atmosphere. This whole part of the coast feels so unique and special. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving along the Pacific!

A rugged open beach with good walking trails on the hillock overlooking the beach. This hillock has a burst of yellow wild flowers. While the mail parking is paid an another one about half a mile apart is free. The wash room in the second parking lot is a dry one without running water and needs maintenance.

It is a very good beach for kids and family to play. The beach is quite long and can be shared by many people. Sand is clean and flat. There is big rock and cliff that has a good view. Some caves are inside the cliff but they are under the sea sometimes. It is by the side of CA-1. Parking space is a lot.

Great beach! Went on Friday evening with kids, and there were very few people so no social distancing concerns. Beach was gorgeous. Nice feature is an inward stream of water that originates from the waves flows out from other side of sand dunes. Perfect play area for kids. Highly recommend!
