Customer Reviews
I arrived 11:30 am on a Saturday and there were still a few options to choose from. I had the Cinnamon Roll and the Cherry Kolache which should not be missed. Highly recommend them both. These buns are one of a kind, served warm and fresh out of the oven daily. Once they run out of something, they cross it off the list. It's a simple menu, but the buns have a unique buttery taste with a dough that's soft enough to make the 15 minute wait in line more than worth it.
I stopped in for a quick sweet treat, and opted for the Lemon Curd bun. It was deliciously fluffy and fresh, and the lemon curd center was phenomenal. Additionally, the woman at the window was extremely nice, and showed me all of the options as she explained the menu (since it was my first time here). I'm 100% coming back for more!
Holy mother of God! While waiting to get into Mawn for lunch despite getting there a half hour before they opened, we stumbled upon this place and I’d like to thank Mawn for being hard to get into because I’d never have discovered this place. I had the meat and gravy biscuit, my niece had a blueberry one and my husband had the egg cheese and tomato. Honestly they were all amazing. They will heat them up for you if you’d like but they also taste great later when they’re sitting on your counter and you aren’t hungry at all. Highly recommended and honestly, the best thing I’ve eaten in Philly so far.
Note: Limited hours (Thursday-Saturday from 9 AM - 1 PM) We came across Pop’s Bun Shop when they were close to closing (around 12 PM) and they had run out of most of their popular buns. We tried the cinnamon and lemon curd buns. Both were delicious, light, and not too sweet! The lady serving us was very friendly and helped answer all our questions. No seating - just queue at the window to order.
After weeks of seeing the lines at Pop's, we got to devour 2 of their delicious bun varieties. Their cinnamon roll and sticky bun with nuts were the best we've ever tasted! We followed their tip to heat the buns in the microwave for 20 seconds right before eating. The warmth makesthe buns melt in your mouth. Their prices are reasonable and they take cash or cards for payment. It's takeout only. They are now open Thursday-Saturday 9am til 1pm or they run out. The owners explained that they need the week days to prep and have the dough develop. We are looking forward to trying their savory bun varieties next time
