Porter Memorial Branch Library

So grateful that all the Pines libraries are connected so you can use your card at any of them without having the line around you because you stay somewhere else. We love to read. Our little ones have read all their books and have moved them to a container so we can get new ones. I’m old school so I love taking them to libraries to enjoy the experience that each one has to offer. However, this library never has a set schedule. I looked online and it said it was open and then we arrived and it was closed or closing earlier than what was posted. Went by today and now they are closed for the remainder of the week. It would be very helpful if there was a schedule where they were consistently open so you can actually plan a trip to the library. Their selection of books are limited but that’s ok

Haven’t had a chance to experience this library yet bc the hours are absolutely atrocious. Edited review: Keeping it at one star. The younger children’s section at BOTH Newton County libraries is pathetic. This one is right across from a park and right next to an elementary school but has minimal focus on younger children. Really a poor standard for a library.

The library is clean and they have a good selection of books for the youth. However, I will not patronize this money hungry facility again. They accused me & my family of causing water damage to two cookbooks. One of the books had damage prior to checkout and the other marks must have been caused by their faculty bringing the book in during the rain. However, they assure us that their faculty don't make such mistakes. We will not support a facility that tries to put the blame on their patrons whom have a 8 year history with Pines Library System, and no damages to books.

This was a very quiet library! Probably because it was Sunday! I couldn't reserve a computer, so I asked for help! The ladies that were there were extremely helpful! They did their job happily! She found the reason I couldn't reserve the computer was because my card was expired! I had no idea that you have to renew it every 2 years! But they assured me that wouldn't be a problem, they could take care of that right then! So I got on the computer and edited the document that I wanted to print! But then I couldn't see where to send it to print! So the other young lady came to help! And "out of touch me" didn't see the little printer icon! I'm old and never thought to look for an icon! In my day it was ALT P to print! And I haven't had a computer in about 4 years so, I've lost a lot of my know
