Porter's House Jamaican Restaurant in the Market

Checked out their broad street location (lovely colourful stand. The food was INCREDIBLE! The way the flavour seeps into the rice. The woman running the register was so sweet, and we will absolutely be coming back for more. If you have never been to the broad street market-it is the best vibe!

One of my favorite spots. So ... you know the food is poppin'. The favors never disappoint. The veggies are mad; cabbage, callaloo, and okra are my good to items.

I ordered the jerk chicken with peas and rice and fried plantains and a jerk chicken patty. Everything was very good. Make sure they hit you with the jerk sauce and don't be afraid to go spicy, it's not too bad. The woman who served me was very friendly and the prices were fair for this big of a meal. I'm a big dude and couldn't eat it all!

The baked Mac and cheese is greasy with clumps of burnt cheese and very dry. The fish had no seasoning, and came the way the pic is. The other food had no seasoning what so ever. I will NEVER spend another dime there. I’m so mad that I spent almost $40 to not eat anything.

I live nearly 2 hours away and have to make a stop at Porter’s House when I’m in Harrisburg. I’ve purchased meals from the Broad Street market and 3rd Street locations and haven’t been disappointed yet. I usually order from the market location. I’m a Jamaican and the food tastes like home. The giant fried dumplings are one of my favorite. I’ve tried other Jamaican restaurants in Harrisburg and there is no comparison.
