Portillo's Bolingbrook

The burger here is absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor in every bite. It is much more satisfying than typical fast-food options. It is a little messy to handle, but that only adds to the experience. The crinkle cut fries are perfectly seasoned, crisp, and make a great companion to the burger.

This is the third different location for Portillo’s in Bolingbrook in the last 50 years, all at the same intersection of Route 53 in Belton Road. This is certainly the largest and fanciest location, and it’s like a beautiful factory. Everything is still run very efficiently, almost as if Dick was still controlling the line. A big plus is the fact that they’ve added soda fountains. The food was expensive, but what isn’t these days? We enjoyed our meal here thoroughly. I’ve been eating at Portillo’s for half a century, and this is still my favorite location to go.

I’m really disappointed with this burger from Portillo’s. It looks nothing like what’s advertised on the menu. The bun was completely soggy, the burger was overloaded with mayo and pickles, and the overall quality just wasn’t there. Definitely not what I expect from Portillo’s. At this point, I’d rather grab a Burger King burger next time.

I did a catering order. The package I bought was the small beef, pasta and salad package. It supposedly feeds 8 to 10 people. More like extra small package. I bought it last year and the difference this year is heinous. The price went up about 11 dollars. And the portions oh man what a joke. Look at the salad. It looks like the salad you would get if you bought their chopped salad for one person. I guess this was meant to feed Liliputians. The beef also is spread in this tray to make it look like it is a full tray. It isn't. Amd what do you do last minute when you wanted to have this for a holiday meal? It is totally pathetic. Never again will I do Portillos catering. I am sure management would tell me that it is due to rising costs and I could always pay more for the large package to

I used the Portillo's App* to order ahead and scheduled a pickup time. Pickup orders require you to walk-in the store. Don't use the drive-thru for orders placed on the App; Use the walk-in doors near the exit of the drive-thru. My order was ready and accurate (I checked the bags before I left). The food was delicious: Italian beef, chicken sandwich, fries, strawberry shortcake (perfect size for 3 people at a small birthday celebration). *the App works great.
