Portillo's Kissimmee

Portillo’s Kissimmee, located on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, is a place my dad would have loved. He didn’t come from Chicago where the restaurant chain originated from, but he loved a good hamburger and hot dog with a side of crisp fries. That’s Portillo’s, plus some other things that make it a laid back place for a fun meal. 🌭 They have the Chicago street food thing going on, surrounding you with 1960s garage decor. The food isn’t crazy expensive, plus there’s tons of tables and seating inside and out. We bring a large group of friends, and there’s just enough noise to make all our laughter not so noticible. Lots of families eating here. My friends rave about the Italian Beef sandwiches, while I sing the praises of their cake and shakes for dessert. Or dinner. I’ve had their desse

Excellent and perhaps the only option for authentic Chicago fast food in Orlando. Got both classics, an Italian beef and a hot dog. Former was wafer thin, perfectly lean and a great portion for the price. Latter was dragged through the garden just like it should be, with proper sport peppers and neon green relish. Couldn’t tell if they were Vienna dogs, but they were definitely all beef natural casing so close enough for me. I was traveling a bit, so they put gravy and giardiniera in separate containers at no extra cost to keep the roll together on the trip home. Great meal for just north of $15. Only constructive feedback was that while the giardiniera was hot and delicious, the portion was not large enough for even the smaller version of the sandwich, a bit more next time would be

Top notch Portillos! The staff was attentive and on point. The food was delicious, hot and tasted fresh. Special instructions followed. Clean bathrooms, clean dining room. Thanks for being great!

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, full of vintage decorations that give it a fun, nostalgic Route 66 road trip vibe. Everything was clean and well-maintained, including the bathrooms. The food was decent—slightly pricey, but that seems to be the norm these days. What really made the visit stand out was the service. The staff was not only friendly, but truly went above and beyond. We accidentally ordered the wrong item at the self-serve kiosk and didn’t realize it until after receiving our meal. When we brought it up, the staff kindly offered to remake it at no charge—even after we realized the mistake was ours. That level of kindness and care is rare, and we really appreciated it. We would definitely stop in again!

What a spectacular atmosphere at this place. High ceilings, an elevated hung classic car, hub caps on the walls, bright lights, in a clean and open layout. The staff were very friendly and they had a huge menu with specials. We ended up signing up with their rewards program. I don’t think we ordered their popular items. I had the Portillo Bowl with the Italian Beef with green peppers. It was plain. Maybe I should’ve eaten it with something else, or I should’ve ordered something else. Don’t know. But it wasn’t good. But next time we’re in town we might consider trying it out again. Maybe a burger or some type of hotdogs. Outside there’s lots of free parking and it’s located right off the main road Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
