Portillo's Rockford

Wentvwith the family to hit up the drive through. Paid 9.00 for italian beef with mozz topping. Beef wasnt visible from the bun, it looked like a thin cheese sandwich. Such a waste. Portillios quality and good portions was something you would brag about to others. Now, prices are sky high, a single hot dog is 4 dollars. This was the kind of experience that instead of telling about portillos is the positive, now it will be, "Dont waste your time, place isnt the same and quality and portion is crap"

I came allllllll the way from Detroit Michigan, Bill and Princess at this location made the trip worth it. Great customer service, delicious food. I'm DEFINITELY coming back.

Moving reviews from Yelp and this was originally published 11/13/16: Pretty typical Portillo's...which makes it a little slice of heaven for those Chicagoans who have moved away but find themselves back in the area for one reason or another. For me, the reason was a 3-day meeting and this was the reward as we headed for home. I took 3 uninitiated co-workers and all 3 loved the place. I knew in advance what I would get and also what I would take home. For dine-in, I went with a Maxwell Street Polish. Eating this sandwich in Rockford, Illinois didn't quite bring back the memory of the original versions I consumed in the wee hours while thoroughly intoxicated and not entirely sure we would make it out of the Maxwell Street Market area altogether unscathed...but it was close. We are BIG fans of Portillo’s, but this Rockford location Sucks! My wife’s hamburger was cold, when she got a new one they didn’t say sorry or nothing like that. I ordered a dipped combo, wasn’t wet and very little beef! We ordered a large onion rings and were missing from our order, had to get up and get it, again no apologies! Rockford needs to train their staff on how to treat their customers and properly serve their food! So disappointed!

Greeted by a vibrant interior and the hospitality of Mike C. and Andrew, we were pleased to enjoy a filling and delicious meal during our brief stint in the midwest. We were blessed to have a great first experience here in Illinois, especially with these two staff members, who made our trip amazing. We’ll be back someday I’m sure.
