We went to Doug & Lil’s Potato Patch for breakfast and truly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and comforting, and the ambiance made us feel like we were eating at our grandma’s house—warm, cozy, and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. A wonderful spot for a great breakfast and a nostalgic, feel-good experience. Highly recommended!
One of the best diner breakfasts I’ve ever had! The provolone omelet was expertly made, the home fries were flavorful and nice texture, the grits were great, and the muffin was good too! I also got coffee (which was refilled 3x 👍). My server was friendly and good at her job. The only small drawback of the whole meal was the price. After tip, I was out the door for $25, which seems crazy for one breakfast w/ coffee, even in 2025. Edit: I went back and tried the country fried steak and it was excellent! Great restaurant!
They have cups and ice, but one cannot get a cup of water. They will however sell you a 16.9oz bottle of Zephyrhills water for $1.50. The sausage gravy was seasoned just right and tasty, but the biscuit was soft and had no crisp on the outside. Seems to be a running theme in this area. The thin bacon was cooked to perfection with just the right combination of crispness and chewiness.
This longtime home style diner was recommended, and we did enjoy our first visit having eggs ham hash browns potato pancake grits and as suggested the biscuit was good also. Would have been five star, except the sausage gravy tasted very heavy on black pepper, like someone kicked over the jar by mistake and served it anyway. Kudos to the waitress for hearing the comment and saying she would mention that to the chef. We plan to visit again to try the corned beef hash.
Great mom and pop stop. They only take cash, so be forewarned. They actually cook eggs perfectly (basted light), and the flavors are very good. Outstanding breakfast!
