This small Thai restaurant offers a unique fusion of Thai cuisine. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted with fresh ingredients. Some dishes lacked the expected heat but it still tasted good. The soft shell crab salad was our favorite. And also the smoked coconut ice cream is a must! The waiters were very helpful and attentive. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere made for a pleasant dining experience.
The food at prik hom was good but imo didnt justify the exorbitant prices. The hai yai chicken was interesting like they use a Cornish hen. The corn cob fritter was also very tasty. I hate having to pay on the side for jasmine rice. It would be nice to price it into the entrees. The eggplant basil which was the simplist dish was quite nice with a lot of wokhei. The beef curry was nice. The fish wrapped in a banana leaf was probably the best thing we ordered. All in all I might come back here.
Tapas style seasonal and regional Thai dishes. Order many of the small plates to share with your party. You won’t find the mainstream Thai dishes here FYI. The stir fried eggplants were my favorite and I’d recommend it. The only negative was the aggressive waiter, he insisted we order the scallop dish many times when we didn’t ask for any suggestions. We ordered it any way and it was just okay. Overall, the food was good and it looked like a nice local spot.
Lovely dinner at Prik Hom. Scallop & lemongrass appetizer & dessert (coconut pancakes & coconut ice cream) were by far my favorites. Mushroom curry soup was light and subtle. Seafood curry was rich & tasty, but did not love the texture of the stir fried shrimp. They were out of a few things like white rice and coconut water. Quiet atmosphere conducive to casual catchup with friends. Like another reviewer said, def worth trying at least once!
Umami shrimp was overrated. The shrimp is not fresh and even stinks. Scallop is good with complex flavor. But overpriced. I mean almost $18 with tax for 2 scallops? Also ordered the beef jerky. Pretty good, dry but good. Wouldn’t recommend. Too small portion and only 10 tables in a small room. I was afraid to go to the bathroom because the hallway was so tiny and hard to pass.
