P&T Cajun Seafood

I AM PICKY ABOUT SEAFOOD. IM PUTTING THIS IN ALL CAPS😁This is the best seafood hot plate for me and yes, ive eaten from at least 5 different seafood hot plate spots but this one is 🔥🔥. 1st.i got the catfish, oyster, shrimp with fries and hushpuppies. The fish fried just right, soft hard fry if that makes sense, it wasnt fried hard, just right.Big pieces seasoned just right, usually my experience with these spots is too much seasonings and its too much but this is just right. 2. There tartar sauce is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥thick and good, not thin an watered down 3. The oysters were awesome, cooked with a crisp, just oh my goodness. 4. Me an my 3 year old granddaughter ate off this plate together and this food was so good i ate the rest 4 hours later cold, the fish an shrimp and it was 🔥🔥🔥 for cold fish eate

I recently tried out this seafood spot downtown and overall it was a pretty good experience. The crab cakes were fresh and had a nice flavor, though a bit on the smaller side. The staff was friendly and attentive, always checking in without being overbearing. The atmosphere is casual, nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a relaxed dinner. I also liked that they had a decent selection of local fish, which is always a plus. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portions were filling. Might come back again to try their clam chowder, which smelled really good from the table next to us.

In lieu of a dining area, half of the place is a raw seafood market and that's a good sign of fresh seafood in my books. I ordered #7 ($18.6) for a pound of peeled red shrimp, sausage, egg, corn and potatoes. Food was still piping hot after I got back to the office. Side note: a lot of people order the gumbo with rice when I was waiting for my food. The shrimp was fresh and tasted fantastic, and so did the trimmings (well, sausage was on the meh side). If I wasn't in the office I would probably drink the sauce. This is one of my best meals in Mobile (I was on business trip). For comparison purposes, I enjoyed the food more than Wintzells' (that'll be another review) and the price was good. And no, I didn't have stomach issues after the meal. We usually get our seafood at a different place, but they are closed on Sunday so we came here. The shrimp didn’t even resemble shrimp by the time I got the peeling off. They apparently were old to start with, and then overcooked. About 95% of them were mush. They charge a premium price for sub par seafood. They should be ashamed of serving seafood that should have been thrown in the garbage. According to some of the reviews, some days they serve fresh seafood, but how are you supposed to know which days those are? I’m certainly not going to take the chance again.

The shrimp taste like perfume or had a bad taste. The live crab was ok but I also brought devined peeled shrimp that was horrible and I made gumbo!🤬 I’m definitely going back for a refund and don’t think I’ll buy there again. This is the 2nd time I brought something from there not fresh and the last. I won’t be back!
