Pudge's Steaks & Hoagies

This a great stop if you are hungry in Pottstown. I saw a few people on Instagram talking about their cheesesteaks so I figured I would stop in and try. So I got a cheesesteak, cooper sharp, and raw onion. Let me tell you I was very happily impressed. As far as a cheesesteak goes in the suburbs, this one is pretty damn good not better than most places in Philly but it was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and the bread was phenomenal with that soft interior and good crunch outside. Sadly they didn’t have seeded rolls, but that’s OK. This gets a solid 8.5/10 on the cheesesteak. But the service was a 10/10 the guy that waited on me was awesome! I will be back!!

What’s up foodies? While away caring for my mother, I decided to give these guys a try based on reviews from people I know in Pottstown. The fries were average at best. They are your normal straight cut fry. They tasted as if they were seasoned with salt, but the seasoning could’ve come from the fryer being used. Anyway, the fries were very basic and to be honest the cheese used is suspect. Personally, I do not think I was served “Whiz” as in Cheese Whiz! Real Cheese Whiz has a distinct aroma and taste and I didn’t get that once I began eating. This is very disappointing because Cheese Whiz is so much better than the alternatives out there which are the canned, cheese sauces. My son loves their cheese steaks. If he could eat them everyday he probaly would. They are always filled and they have the best mozarella sticks. Prices are comparable to other local shops

If you look up cheese steaks in the area of Pottstown it is essentially gazzos and a few competitors. Pudgies popped up for my husband and I on the way home and it was more convenient at the time than considering the hustle and bustle of parking in Pottstown for gazzos and the wait etc. Now I love gazzos for the thrill of a bougie and different cheese steak experience but… PUDGIES is where we are going 100% for a solid classic cheese steak. Meat and cheese portion 10/10 and when you say hot peppers you get legitimate hot peppers!! Vs the banana peppers. Price is average for a solid cheese steak and fries are solid not the best in the world but def good enough as a side companion to a phenomenal cheese steak!! I’ve been searching for a great cheesesteak place near me (Phoenixville). I definitely found it. It’s a beautiful ride down 23 to get there and wow, it did not disappoint. I got a large cheesesteak hoagie with long hots and cooper sharp. It was huuuge. Took me two days to eat it lol. Every part of it was great. The bread, seasoning, meat & cheese ratio—all perfect(in my opinion) for how I like my cheesesteak. Even the young lady who rung me up was very pleasant and helpful. I’ll definitely be back
