Purslane

Have heard people rave about this place and have wanted to come for some time now. So glad that we did! Food: Everything about the menu and food feels intentional. Just to get us settled in, we were given a couple of small glasses of warm Turkish apple cider. It had mild flavors and was a nice way to awaken the palate. For cocktails, we got the “Above the Terracotta” Manhattan and the “Mosaic Form” Old Fashioned. Both lived up to their descriptions, especially the smokiness of the Old Fashioned. After consulting with our server, we decided on a couple of small plates and one large one. The Meze Trio was a wonderful way to start. Each was delicious, with a distinct texture and flavor profile. Absolutely outstanding in every aspect. Dinner with friends. 3 of us ordered 6 dishes to share. Every single one was perfect. Fresh, hearty, tasty with generous portions. We didn't leave room for dessert and we devoured the food so quickly I forgot to take photos of all but one dish. The service is as good as the food. Possibly the friendliest, most accommodating restaurant staff I've ever run across. We stayed a while after dinner just chatting and they never once made us feel anything other than welcome to do so. Brilliant experience from start to finish. Wholeheartedly recommend.

A group of four, long time friends enjoyed Valentine’s Day at Purslane’s. First we enjoyed some interesting cocktails that the bartender brought to our table. I had the Color of Thought - an Old Fashioned made with cherry vanilla bitters and pomegranate seeds, -it was delicious! Next, we ordered small and large plates that we shared. Each one was creatively prepared and thoughtfully presented. The server brought one at a time to the table and each one was amazing. My personal favorite was the Meze Trio but we also enjoyed, Beef Cheeks - a savory very tender beef in a gravy type sauce. It was delicious with many unique spices. The food was exceptional (the scallops on another level entirely) and the cocktails were outstanding! Kyle, the cocktail wizard, chatted with us about some of our picks and it’s clear that he has passion for what he does. Sometimes it’s difficult to find cocktails that aren’t typically what you’d make at home… this place experiments so that you don’t have to, and Kyle hits it out of the park! The flavors of everything we tried were extraordinary. The fattoush salad and meze trio were my favorites. The service was outstanding.
