We love coming to the Pahala pool. Its perfect size to keep an eye on kids!!! Bathrooms are close and there is a nice diving board. The lifeguards have always been kind and helpful. There is great swim lessons in the summer and a wonderful novice swim team in the fall!!! Also its FREE!! public swim is in the afternoon with lap swimming and exercise in the morning.
The Pahala swimming pool is open to the public 7 days a week. There are Aquafit classes in the morning on M,W,F for a nominal fee. Adult lengths are from 10am to Noon M-F and 11am-Noon S-S. and swimming lengths is FREE! Yes, swim lengths at no charge. Lifeguards are friendly. But bring your own pool stuff. There is no lending out of kick boards, pull buys, etc. You will need to bring with you or purchase at Sports Authority in Hilo. The pool is not heated so the water is chilly in the winter.

Super nice staff great swim lessons. Pool is on the cold side though.
