Lunch is our usual MO after morning Doctor appointments. Today we decided to go thru the Q-thru at QDaddy's Yorktown location that opened its doors today. Selected an assortment of items to get a good taste of the menu. We really enjoyed the Mega Sampler, especially the Brisket and Sausage, we made it a meal by adding Hush Puppies, Baked Bean & Cole Slaw. Pups and Beans were great. The Southern Brisket sandwich didn't impress, would have much rather had the brisket which was excellent in its original form instead of battered and fried. Next up we chose a Half Rack of Ribs which we also up sized to try out the Mac n Cheese and Cheesy Potatoes. The ribs fell apart and were delicious and we really enjoyed the Mac n cheese too. Freshly made hush puppies did not disappoint. Just heated a
Well…. $38 for one person. ($24.95) Mega sampler, 5oz of brisket, 4oz of pulled pork, 1 sausage link and 3 chicken tenders. No sides. No substitutes. Sides are $6.99 for two plus you get 2 hush puppies. 32oz soda $2.99 with refills (good deal) The brisket was thick cut (3/8”) and had been soaked in a sweet sauce. Was not tender, it had to be cut with a knife, you could not pull it apart. Tasted like pot roast The pulled pork was prepared in some sort of red sweet sauce and it tasted just like the brisket I chose the jalapeno and cheese beef sausage, it had good snap although it was overpowering in the cheese and could not taste any jalapeno (it was the best meat though) The chicken tenders were really small but juicy but forgettable. The hush puppies were the worst I’ve ever had. No t
I was lucky enough to be flagged down by management and invited to take part in their drive-thru stress test. I was told to order whatever I wanted—and that it would be free! At their suggestion, I ordered two mega sampler meals with mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes, a chocolate milkshake, a banana snap pudding milkshake, a 32-oz sweet tea, and pickle chips. I was told it was completely on the house. Even better, the drive-thru only took about five minutes, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Once we got home and dug in, it honestly felt like a blessing from the Lord. The meats were packed with flavor and incredibly juicy. My wife absolutely loved the mac and cheese, and my 18-month-old son went to town on the brisket! Huge thank you to the Q Daddy team for this amazing experience
Stopped by the new Yorktown location of Q Daddy’s BBQ tonight (their second day open). I understand there can be growing pains with a new restaurant, but I was honestly disappointed. I love good barbecue and was really looking forward to trying it, but the food was extremely greasy — the meat and even the buns were soaked. The $3.49 fries portion was smaller than a typical child’s size at most fast food places, and the $0.80 “mini” coleslaw was barely a teaspoon. For a $25 order, it just didn’t feel worth it. I haven’t tried the molasses cookie yet — it’s the only item that looks appetizing — but unfortunately I won’t be risking the rest of the meal or returning.
Our family went to the newly opened Yorktown location. So many locals were so excited for a new and delicious place to eat. It was great to see such a large turnout to support a FAMILY OWNED business. The food we had was excellent, the service was great. I was pleased to see so many smiling faces. We tried the pork BBQ and many sides , along with the cookie and banana pudding. It was great. Can’t wait to try the brisket and the ribs! I think Q Daddies will be a fun addition to York County.
