Customer Reviews
I grew up going to this library, and I still go there often. They have a great book selection, and hold many interesting events. While most staff are very kind and helpful, there are a few bad apples, hence the 4 stars instead of the 5. All in all, it's one of my favorite places in the world.
The East Elmhurst Library is a clean and highly organized space that offers a truly comforting atmosphere. The librarian that helped me out was exceptionally helpful, making it an inviting environment for all visitors.
The worst library ever, not ND friendly and even their activities are very rigid and not inclusive at all. If they cater towards only specific group, then should have put a notice. My kid has autism but he is usually calm. Every time we visit there, they always makes comments and seems very unhappy including the security guard also. I don’t know what my kid has done to them. My kid joined tap dance for the first time. They didn’t let a boy join the class and don’t know the reason why. Shocking ! I wish there is more activities which is more inclusive as it’s 2025, we are not living in a Stone Age. Also training for the staffs to be more empathetic and inclusive. I am also aware that sadly no amount of training will teach human decency.
The security guard is so bad. I was 18 and sitting in teens section and he felt the need to tell me I need to sit in adults section because I’m now 18. It wasn’t even crowded or anything, just me in that section that day. Mad creepy too as others have said, he’s always staring at you like you’re a criminal or something. I don’t intend on going back which is unfortunate because it’s my local library.
I am a med student, and this was my first visit to this library. I understand why some people have mixed feelings about the staff. While there are definitely some friendly and helpful employees, others came across as unexpectedly rude. For example, I sat down at a table in the adult area, and the librarian asked whether I was an adult in an unnecessarily rude manner. I also accidentally entered a bathroom designated only for children, simply because I wasn’t aware, but the same rude staff member at the front desk knocked on the door obnoxiously harsh. Another inconvenience is accessing the quiet study area. You must be escorted by security every single time, even if a friend is already inside and could open the door for you. I was yelled at for asking my friend to open the door for me, and
