Raahi Art of India

Went here for weekend late lunch. There were not many customers dining in; not sure if it was because it is a new restaurant or because the parking in South End is inconvenient. The menu offers a variety of options. We started with fried broccoli as appetizers- the sweetness driven by honey was good. Butter chicken was recommended and we also had a chef’s lamb. Both were pretty tasty but I would go with butter chicken if I had to choose. Mango lassi has cream and cherry - can tell it’s fusion, nice for photos but really unnecessary. Spicy level is very mild. Range 1-5, I cannot taste any spicy when we ordered a 3. Recommend to go with higher levels if you want a real spicy dish. Also, T-mobile has barely any signal in the restaurant. AT&T and Verizon work fine.

I tried Raahi last night and it was incredible! The food is made to order so it came out piping out. I like spicy food so the chef made sure my prawns came out just right. The exterior of this place has some limited seating so you can enjoy eating outside and the inside is surprisingly bigger than I thought with clean fresh lines. It was a very nice ambience. I can't wait to come back! **UPDATE** I came back on 10/12 and the food was just as delicious and the service was amazing.

I was thrilled to discover that a new Indian focused restaurant has opened in South End, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. The experience did not disappoint. Starter: The Honey Cauliflower was outstanding. It was crispy, flavorful, and packed with the perfect balance of crunch and spice. Main Dish: I went with the Raahi Desi Fare: Chicken Tikka Masala. You can never go wrong with this classic, and it was exactly what you’d want on a cool fall evening or a rainy day. We ordered spice level 2 out of 5, which had great flavor, but next time we’ll go for level 3 to kick it up a notch. Bread: The Garlic Naan was hands down the best we’ve had in Charlotte!! Utterly disappointing Experience at Raahi... My group of five visited Raahi for lunch on their second day of opening, as it's conveniently located below our office. Unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming. While the Goat Biryani was delicious and the Garlic Naan was flavorful, the rest of our meal was a letdown. The Chicken Biryani was forgettable, lacking any distinct flavor. The Shrimp Biryani was a complete disaster. The jumbo shrimp were undercooked and they just don't belong in a biryani. The Paneer Chettinad was also disappointing, with a partially cooked masala that smelled raw and had crunchy, raw onions. Based on our meal, the name "Raahi Art of India" feels like a misnomer. We tried a little bit of everything and it was all amazing. We left so stuffed!! We’ll definitely be back for more; this is easily the best Indian restaurant in Charlotte. The vibe is beautiful and the service was fast and super friendly. Anand has done some amazing work here. If I could give it 6 stars I would!!
