Rao Thai Eatery

Our first time to dine here at Rao. I enjoyed our meal. Papaya salad, soup, Pad Thai, etc and desserts. Spicy good. The ambiance is cozy. Music was not too loud. Shout out to our cute server, Taj. Thank you.

The food was for the most part too sweet. 10/10 spicy was mediocre and we got their special which was also too sweet. The only thing that was good was the alcohol. I shotgun the beerlao for a bet I had, but in majority, the food was too sweet. They did however had 4 types of spices they brought out which I really appreciated. The spices were dried red pepper, hot oil chili, fish sauce thai chili, and pickled jalepenos. The atmosphere was okay, lots of flies for some reason which was a but irritating.

As I am Thai “Rao Thai Eatery” is my favorite Thai restaurant in Elk grove. Papaya salad was so delicious, flavor was exactly like Esan style. The owners were very friendly. I will coming back to try something new here! Don’t forget to order Thai Tea.

We came here for a birthday dinner, and it was fantastic. The staff was friendly and even surprised our friend with a small dessert. We shared spring rolls, curries, and noodles, all bursting with fresh herbs and spices. The lively atmosphere, complete with colorful lanterns and music, made it feel like a real celebration.

I have to leave 5 stars for this place. The food is so good. I ordered myself Drunken noodle. They cook the drunken noodle just perfect, not too soft and soggy like other places. The papaya salad and the mango sticky rice is so delicious. Friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended and I will come back soon to try other dishes on the menu.
