Reckless Noodle House and Cocktails

Popular and mediocre. Could have been what we ordered but first photo was lobster bao- tasted like cream cheese and mush. Had no real lobster bits and tasted like a whole lot of nothing. Crispy wings were fried wings with sweet chili dumped over the top, 3 pieces, not interesting at all. Best dish were the green beans. Would order that again, and the drinks were great. We had Bo la lat as well but that was really bad. Left it all to my dad who loved it. So could be a tastebud thing but man I did not like it one bit. Had a cat food essence about it. 1/10. Staff was nice and the restaurant itself is really aesthetic; I’d recommend this place for cocktails and green beans and that’s about it. Disappointed for such a hopping popular spot.

We’ve been here 3 times now, and this time was for restaurant week. Most venues have a cheaper menu for that week, often with dishes on standby that lack the genuine experience of the venue. However, this place is stellar! Our dishes were hot, flavorful, excellent proportions, and quick! They never cut corners here. The drinks were also top notch! Don’t miss out when they do restaurant week!

We’ve been coming here since moving into the neighborhood in 2020 and we’re so happy when they expanded the space so have a bar vibe section in addition to the indoor and enclosed outdoor dining areas! We love ordering family style with big groups or ordering solo if we don’t wanna share and have leftovers. Cocktails and food are all delicious and service is always top notch!

The food is fantastic; the restaurant is listed as Vietnamese, but admittedly I haven’t come across many Vietnamese restaurants with these dishes. Every dish we had was flavourful, complex, and clearly created with skill. The Ma La Braised Beef Cheek Noodle was the standout; one of my favourite noodle dishes ever. The Five Spice Duck Confit was also incredible, and a nice more subtle contrast to the spiciness of the Beef Cheek. The blistered green beans were perfectly seasoned and the papaya salad was a nice fresh intro to the rest of the meal. All-in-all, I look forward to coming back to try some of the other dishes, though worry it will be impossible to come here and NOT get the Beef Cheek Noodle.

We came later in the evening and the place was still pretty full which was a good sign. The staff were extremely welcoming and cleaned off a table in the corner. The drinks were excellent and the food was even more incredible. The green beans had a nice spice to them and the meals came out quick and hot. The place has a cool vibe to it to so fun for a date spot. Will be back
