What can I say? I’m enjoying the best croissant ever on a sunny and warm mid morning in Santa Barbara. I decided to return for an extended visit as I lived here over a decade ago. And my first stop? Enjoying a beautiful croissant at Renaud’s. Although a touch more expensive than I’m used to in NY, it’s worth every penny to have the pastry, coffee and experience. What I also like is that it’s a quieter spot than the one on Loretta. I may just order a croissant to go…

Food is amazing. Service not so much. Waiting at the counter forever. Finally someone comes to serve and starts serving the most recent arrival! I had to speak up loudly. The scrum in front of the counter doesn’t serve customers well. But as I said, food is so good it’s worth almost any amount of bad service!

Everything I’ve ever eaten here is divine and delish. Super friendly staff. Love sitting out on the patio.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Good coffee and excellent baked goods, patasserie style. Only issue is change of service to no longer allowed order from tables on phone- very nice ilehen crowded in morning.

Renaud’s strives at making some excellent desserts. What I have tried from them has been delicious and has just the right amount of ingredients for the dessert to be light and not overly rich. The almond croissant is exquisite! The hazelnut dessert is also yummy. I definitely recommend this place for a tasty and desserts that will keep you wanting more and more.
