My friends and I had the pleasure of experiencing the tasting menu at Restaurant Naides alongside the non-alcoholic pairing, and it was truly memorable from start to finish. One of my absolute favorites was the golden beetroot paired with roasted yeast and carob cordial — I genuinely wish I could have that one every day. The balance of earthiness and depth was just incredible. Two dishes that resonated with me personally were the Puto (one of the three street snacks) — a beautifully steamed, fluffy rice cake topped with pork rillette, lardo, and wild unripe berries. An intimate fine dining experience with a unique perspective on Filipino flavors and products local to California. The service and ambiance matched the finesse of the dishes. The duck two ways and puto (with ribbons of lardo) were my favorite bites.

Naides was a truly unique and remarkable experience. The service was not only impeccable but truly personable and engaging. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food and beverages are truly insane. I expect exceptional service from Michelin level restaurants, and Naides hit every mark for me. The food however went well beyond expectation. Upscale Filipino food is a revelation--so many exotic flavor combinations and ingredients. This wasn't Asian fusion, or the standard fare you get around San Francisco.
