River Bend Bistro & Wine Bar

The food was amazing!! I truly have not had such an amazing meal in a long time. I will be dreaming of their Italian sausage flatbread, salmon risotto and apple cobbler tonight :) 20/10 recommend.

My husband and I came here on a whim for an impromptu late lunch. We ordered the sweet potatoes biscuits with ham, which were decent but dry. I ordered the roasted honey nut soup. It was decent, though there was something bland or missing with the taste. We both ordered the Cheddar Cheeseburger, one medium, one medium well. We waited an hour for our food. Yes, an hour. At some point, I’m sure after sensing our frustration, our waiter advised the burgers weren’t made properly and apologized. By the time we received the burgers, I didn’t have the energy to fight. One was medium well, the other well done. At least it was good quality meat and was presented well. Hoped for the best after reading the reviews, but unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. We waited a hour for starters and 2 hours for entrees (which were burgers and sandwiches…). Food was meh. My burger was extremely rare after asking for it medium to well. Sent it back, they cooked it, and put it back on a blood soaked bun. Both of have tummy issues today. We will never return.

I only did takeout, but the warm welcome I received set the tone. Once I got home and we dug in we started raving - the agnotelli, pollock, and chicken were all cooked to perfection. The warm spinach salad was balanced, and the mascarpone cheesecake was the perfect finisher.

Second visit and we invited friends this time. All went well and everyone agreed the food and atmosphere were great! Our friend said it was the best pork chop he’s ever had and we all love the unique version of tots as an appetizer. Another friend wanted to hog all the crab dip! The only complaint I have is that I requested a certain server when I made the reservation by phone AND in writing on the RESY app but did not get my request. Our server ended up fine but I didn’t understand this oversight since the restaurant was only at about 50-60% capacity at the time. We will return to check out the fall menu!
