River & Henley Bar and Restaurant

I stopped by with my wife and friends at River & Henley and we had a great time. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere—perfect for watching football with friends. We shared several delicious apps, including pierogies, empanadas, overloaded short rib poutine fries, lemon pepper wings (my favorite), and loaded potato tots. We finished with Nutella empanadas and a big Dulce de Leche cake—so good. Great spot for catching a game or grabbing a bite. We’ll definitely be back!

Local bar restaurant at New Milford. Cozy and festival decorations around the dining area. It also has a patio with heat (covered), still a little cold. Service is great. The staff are all nice and attentive. The host informed us 45 mins wait for inside, but we can sit at patio right away. So we choose the patio. I feel they need to put more heat in the patio area tho. They only have 1 in the center. Food is average. Parmesan crusted chicken with linguine in creamy lemon sauce very lemony. I did not expect that strong citrus flavor. Otherwise the chicken and linguine itself is not bad. Kids burger is a bit dry. Empanadas are not bad, more cheesy than other places.

We came here for dinner on Saturday night. It was jammed packed, waiting time up to 40 minutes. Luckily they had a closed outdoor area available with heaters on, so we got a table there right away. The inside area seemed very cozy places, with a multiple bar areas, high tables and some couches by the fire place. Different groups were at the restaurant, celebrating different occasions. We started with the Mama;s Empanadas, that came with two big ones. Though the middle part was good, the outer layer of the empanadas were too thick and didn’t taste good. For entree, I had to Joanne’s Classic burger, that had a good size beef patty, yellow cheese, lettuce and pickles in it. The burned seal on of the bun looked pretty good. River and Henley in New Milford was the perfect spot for a friday night. It was full but not over crowded. The wait was short and our server Nikki was great. We ordered the short rib poutine, coconut shrimp, short rib sandwich, and beef empanadas. Everything was delicious and even the sauces were excellent.

The food here is great and the beers are nice and cold. The first time we came we ordered the mango habanero wings but they gave us buffalo wings by mistake. We told our server and they replaced the wings. The second time we had already eaten dinner and just came for some beer and apps. We ordered the Thai chili wings this time with beer. After we finished we ordered the filet mignon sliders. When the server brought out the sliders, she asked, 'Is that all' we were having. We felt a little weird about it, even though we were just enjoying a second dinner. Despite that one odd interaction, the service was truly outstanding. We're already looking forward to coming back for happy hour.
