Rogers Memorial Library

This is a fantastic little library on the east end of Long Island.. We’ve been coming here for many years and our children have always loved the kids section here.. From the large indoor wooden ship playground, to their vast collection of books and their warm & helpful librarians, the Rogers Memorial Library is a great place to spend an afternoon with your children.. If you’re looking for a quiet and cozy place to read, they’ve even got a big fireplace in their reading room.. On our last visit here I noticed that they’re raising funds for another major renovation, which would include an expansion, an overhaul of their grounds, and even a charming little cafe!!

I absolutely love this library. I consider it to be the only place in the area offering an equitable, accessible, and truly kind space for the community.

The Director "Karen" and top flight security of the world "Daren" are very rude. The entire workforce there need to take a Constitutional Rights course to educate themselves. "Karen" had no business telling the people inside the library about someone is recording. That's no one's business but the cameraman. She also instigated the commotion at the library by talking loud and having the public wondering what's going on. Now "Daren", if you didn't want to be in the video, you could have not confronted or followed the cameraman. I'm so glad they were given a lesson on the Constitution. They should hang a nice poster of the Constitution for "We the People" to read when they enter the library.

Having grown up reading at the Jobs lane location, I find myself reminiscing the old days of the kids corner in the tower. This library is special to me. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. A Huge selection of books and plenty of cool events for kids .

Unfortunately, the employees—especially the manager in charge of the library—are rude and disrespectful toward people exercising their right to record in a public library. Truly a disgrace.
