Food is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Dining area gets very crowded and its hard to find a seat often. Take note there are no soft drinks, only tea and water at the fountain. They sell bottles but also have water cups available for free.

Mine and my boyfriend’s food was so delicious and flavorful! The drinks were as well. Bartender was nice :) we aren’t from the area but if we come back, will definitely be visiting here again! 10/10

We love Roots! It's perfect for when you don't feel like cooking, but still want something healthy & filling. Great vegetarian options as well - I love the BBQ tofu! We get it to-go or delivered sometimes & it definitely travels well. Would also recommend them for catering!

Food was great. I traveled about an hour to State College and was excited about having lunch at Roots. I will say though, the young woman preparing my food had the nastiest tone, attitude and facial expression. She even glared over at me while I was paying. I'm generally understanding of this kind of thing, but wow. She acted as though she was disgusted by my presence in the location and to have to serve me was such a bother. The other young lady checking me out was super kind. Please make sure the staff making food for customers are a little bit more kind. You simply can't have that kind of demeanor in customer service.

In town for business . I was looking for something filling for after my workout. Came across this place. They offer custom bowls or Salads with a variety of veggies toppings. And 2 tofu options along with chicken. I chose the build your own. You can choose unlimited based ( I got the root rice and kale) and you pick 5 toppings. The sauces /dressings are flavorful!! I did find the bbq tofu to get over cooked and very dry/hard. But the flavor choice worked well with my bowl, just wish it wasn’t so tough to chew. The staff is friendly and there’s plenty of seating inside and out!
