Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Great food, staff, and atmosphere. The fuel is just a little bit higher than I like to pay. A few cents more than buc-ee's is worth every penny. The barbecue is far superior, and a nice place to sit down and eat, with fresh pickles and onions as well as outstanding coleslaw and sweetened tea. Thanks Rudy's, you make my road trip very pleasant!

We each had a brisket sandwich with Rudy's BBQ sauce. $8.99 each. I thought this was a sit-down restaurant. It's not. You go up to the counter & order your food. Very fast! Very good. We tried their chocolate pudding dessert. It was good - if you like pudding. We stopped here because of their excellent reviews. They did not disappoint. Maybe not the absolute best bbq in Texas, but consistently very good and keeps me a loyal customer. Price-wise, bbq has gotten very pricey, with many places charging $12-15 and higher, for a brisket sandwich, so Rudy's remains on the affordable side. If you have a choice, between the big tourist trap gas station and Rudy's, bypass the beaver and keep going for BBQ that actually tastes good.
