Please note: this review is for a black raspberry milkshake only. I was on my way home from lunch in Milford and drove right past Ryder's. Decided a shake was in order. First, you must drive around behind Ion Bank to get to it. The menu offered many choices, but I went with my favorite, a black raspberry shake. The positive: the large is only $7, which is pretty good in the current economy. The negative: too much syrup for my preference. The taste was overpowering. There was also a slight hint of banana flavor, which is not a bad thing if it was on purpose. My plan is to return and try something else, so I can give them a chance to earn the fifth star. Hot fudge sundae sounds appealing!!!
Super delicious each time we've went and amazing service. I am so in love with this new ice cream shop and so is my whole family. I'm excited to keep trying different things and make my way through the whole menu!
Ryder’s is ok soft serve but inconsistent. It is more of a cold whip cream consistency than the typical soft serve. It’s ok, it’s convenient which is why I did 3 stars because it’s not horrible. Although, when we went this weekend the ice cream tasted like cleaning products. We won’t be back as there are lots of other options in or around Meriden.
The soft serve ice cream comes in many flavors and serves as a great style of ice cream to dip cone chips into. You get to pick two toppings and one sauce. The menu said it also comes with whipped cream but ours didn’t come with any and we weren’t missing it. It’s a great treat to share with the kids. For a family that doesn’t normally have sundaes this was a delightful treat. My kids loved it and even the baby enjoyed the cone chips.
I don’t think I can say I’ve ever tasted “disgusting” ice cream in my life, until I had the dairy free pistachio here. It is an artificial, fluorescent green color. The taste was not even reminiscent of pistachio; it tasted like fabuloso cleaner. I took one lick and threw it out. I’m truly not that picky, but this ice cream was inedible.
