Safeway Bakery

Their sour dough bread is very good! Also their bagels 🥯 are some of the best on the island. Their olive focaccia is excellent. Their cakes are ok and I didn't like their doughnuts very much. But for being a grocery store bakery, and for their prices on Maui, I definitely recommend to buy bread at Safeway Bakery.

It's an ok bakery, but my real issue with all Safeway and most grocery store bakeries; it's the ingredients they use. Too much soy used, from soy lecithin to soy flour and other cheap low quality ingredients, makes things taste just not right; with an aftertaste of disappointment.

Got there kinda late for some fresh donuts, but I hit it in the morning for that goodness that can only come from freshly stocked bakery 🥯🧁 goods. As usual they didn't disappoint.

Again, I grab a loaf of rye bread on sale only to ring up not on sale. I double-checked the skew # to make sure it's the one. Then all the yogurt on sale is gone by 9am on the first day of sale.

Great store. Prices are not going to be what most people are used to, but that's due to being on Maui I'm assuming not Safeway as much.
