Came here with my dad when it was icy outside and it was the only thing open. Nice ambiance but was a little weird that we were the only ones there but understandable. Started with the samosa chaat which was solid but just missing a punch of pungent flavor. Then the gobi Manchurian which was crispier than a potato chip but solid. Then I got the naan and goat. The goat was amazingly tender but still just lacked some punching flavor. Wished for a flavor that would punch me in the face and make me ask for a mouthguard but this place didn’t have it. Solid all in all but don’t hold back on the spice and the flavor baby 😛
The food is very good and delicious. Tried the chicken briyani the taste and spices are spot on! The portion is very large, one dining enough for 2 people to eat. Staffs here are very friendly and cheerful. For sure will come here to dine again!
I've been to this restaurant three times and I cannot stop ordering the saag lamb!! It is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'm sure someday I'll start trying to butter chicken and other famous and wonderful Indian food but now I'm very partial to this dish! And there's always plenty for another meal
Had a great experience at Saffron! We tried a wide variety of dishes — panipuri, pakoda, kurkure bhindi, veg chowmein, chicken drumstick, veg and chicken biryani, and chicken thalis. Overall, the food was flavorful and satisfying. The biryani was a bit too oily for our taste, but everything else was delicious, especially the kurkure bhindi and the masala chai — the chai was a real standout! Even though we arrived close to their afternoon closing time, the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The service was warm, and the washrooms were clean and well-maintained. Definitely a good spot for flavorful Indian food with great hospitality!
I love Indian food, and this is some of the best I’ve ever had. The flavors are incredible. The service is great. Ashish is often our waiter, and he does a great job every time. Saffron is a hidden gem. If the secret gets out, it has the potential to be one of the most popular restaurants in Austin.
