Every time I leave Sake I think “that’s it, that’s the best sushi plate I’ve ever had, it doesn’t get better than this”. Then I go back next week and am just blown away all over again. From the friendly front of house staff, to the hilarious and caring bar staff, to the creative, innovative and flexible kitchen staff - I’d give their service 10 out of 5 stars if it was an option. No option on the food menu is a bad choice but man oh man, if you haven’t had their pork katsu slider or let the chef get creative with a sushi 101/sushi 102/chirashi order, you haven’t lived your sushi life to the fullest yet. Go try it. With an espresso shot and a sake bomb on the side.
Sake Japanese bistro is probably my favorite sushi joint in town. There are always a lot of fun and interesting roles to try, and the restaurant is always clean and friendly. If you’re looking for a fun sushi experience, don’t sleep on this place.
We are never disappointed! The calamari is perfect, and I went with the dragon roll 🤤My husband got a hot toddy sake that was also delicious. They have a good variety of raw and cooked sushi, but they treat it like art. I truly appreciate that.
What a lovely little place! This was our first sushi in Missouri. The server/host was an absolutely delightful person. He was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of space and time to decide. We were disappointed in the lack of options when it came to raw fish in the rolls. There were great nigiri and sashimi Options, but the rolls were mostly cooked fish or crab/shrimp based. What we ordered though - it was incredible. Hamachi sashimi, rainbow roll, unagi roll, and spider roll. The rainbow roll did have raw salmon and tuna on it, so that was the favorite! But all rolls were incredible!
I really wanted to like this place. The food wasn’t bad, but we waited more than an hour after we ordered (and I’m not exaggerating). I think it was too pricey for the amount of food served; we got there hungry and left hungry (spent $80 for two). It was tasty, but the experience was overall disappointing.
