Sal's Family Restaurant

I had breakfast here yesterday. It came out hot a quick. The hash browns were nice and crispy. Super delicious. I enjoy the thicker toast then most breakfast restaurants. My friend ordered fish and chips and came with complimentary soup. It was Italian wedding. I’m positive they didn’t make it from scratch but it was still good. The prices were fair and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be back!

Had breakfast today. No special order. Basic meal from menu. We arrived around noon, and didn't leave til around 230pm. Service was really bad. Waitress only returned once to table to refill coffee, food took forever to get to our table.

NOT the same restaurant it used to be! It went from ok service to… let’s start with the food- Bacon tasted like onions, fries like fish, cold eggs, etc. We didn’t complain, we couldn’t if we wanted to, we never saw anyone after that. Sat at the table for 45 minutes after we ate, no offer to refill our drinks, no offer to take our plates. They looked at us, when we showed our empty cups, they turned their backs to us. Literally! Never asked if we needed anything. 3 Of us were drinking coffee. There was nobody else in the restaurant (I understand why now) so it’s not like they were busy. 4 different staff walked by us, so they weren’t short employees. When they finally showed up it was to take our money. LoL NEVER AGAIN! Sad to see what happened to a good family restaurant to what it’s beco

I was visiting family in Sarnia and my sister decided to take me out to this place for lunch. We both ordered the same thing except for a few minor changes. My sister wanted the sweet potato fries instead of regular and I wanted extra cheese instead of the bacon on the Clubhouse. We both also ordered a side of mayo. The coleslaw that came with it wasn't impressive at all. I found it tasted a little off a little too sweet for me not enough carrot or other vegetables it was just cabbage and tiny pieces of carrot. A good coleslaw should also have red cabbage a bit of onion and maybe even some dice tomatoes. When our food also arrived they screwed up my sister's order and gave her regular fries instead of sweet potato. We didn't have time to make any adjustments as we were on a time crunch.

I have gone to breakfast here almost weekly for the past year and have never been disappointed! Wait staff are very friendly! Food comes out hot, quick and always delicious! Shredded hash browns are my favourite. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a classic breakfast in sarnia.
