Samaria Pizza

I’ve been coming to this mom and pop pizzeria for over 20 years. It’s a staple in the area. It’s actually the mother and son who take care of it. There’s also a gentleman who has been with them for as long as I could remember. For a long time I was scared of the lady behind the counter. Then I spoke to her one day and realized how sweet she really is. She opened this location with her husband in the 1970s I believe, he has unfortunately passed away since but I am grateful that she kept the business going. I enjoy going there with my children because I hope that one day they, too, will remember the memories at this pizzeria. As a teen I used to enjoy the pac-man arcade machine there. The pizza is delish and there’s a very calm energy in the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pizzeria

Pizza is good sometimes with mushrooms pretty much thats all I get here these days I used to get their chicken sandwiches and or calzones which aren't the same any longer they used to display their calzones and such

Been coming here since I could chew. Even after we moved, any time we visit Astoria? Its a must we stop at Samaria. You’re not getting any better tasting pizza anywhere else, or a bigger portion size than the slices they give. Prices are still extremely affordable, pizza is always, always delicious, pepperoni rolls a big hit, its the best. Family owned, and listen, it does get overwhelming, they been through a lot as a family and as a business but the passion and grit is there and its so admirable, adds to the experience and the taste, truly. Maria (Zambia I think her real name) is a community person and shes kind and hard working. One of the very few only wo(man) manning the oven, she deserves grace and kindness. Old skool pizza joint owned by a lovely family. Would I say it’s the best tasting pizza? It’s close. The sauce is sweet but not too much but the crust and dough is perfect for me. It could use more sauce though! It’s not a heavy, fall-apart-gooey pizza like some other shops so don’t come here expecting that. Cash only in person but can order via grubhub/seamless as well.

Goood service thin crust pizza - love the plain slice slightly sweet. Price is very reasonable for the size
