San Jose's Tacos & Tequila

A nice Mexican restaurant located in Florence, SC by the movie theater. It has a unique style based on traditional Mexican food with a touch of California. The atmosphere was great, the building was clean and the food was good. The service was fast and friendly.

We’ve tried this place a few times now. Great experience first time but maybe because I bought a two oz pour of top shelf tequila, Don Julio Real. Come back a couple more times and the service was lousy. Our server had a bad attitude once I asked for Repasado in my margarita instead of Blanco. They only offer Blanco in their margaritas and if you ask for Reposado, it’s an upcharge, wasn’t an upcharge the first time I went. Top shelf margaritas are about $20 there and then they want you to pay more on top of that. So I ordered a Sangaria and it was garbage, worst I’ve ever had. I immediately sent it back and I was told all alcohol sales were final. I was charged $15 for a drink that was sent back immediately. They have zero interest in their customer service. The reviews do not do this place justice. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. Waiters and staff were attentive without being intrusive. Prices were reasonable and not overly expensive. Great food, service and atmosphere - we will be back again as we travel!

The owners daughter served us. To start we asked for a mild salsa and was told they only serve hot. So, we ordered the cheese dip. It came out clumpy. We asked for I r it to be taken off the bill. We were told all sales were final. She did not offer to take it back to reheat it. I ordered a chimachonga. Wanted it with ground beef instead of shredded beef. She said that there was a $3.25 unchanged. So, I ate it with shredded beef. Was not happy. I asked for her father and he was on a break. He always is working hard when we are in there so I'm sure it was one well deserved. She finally brought the bill and had taken $3 off for inconvenience . Staff was very friendly. Food was great, except we didn't get the rice and beans and didn't realize it until after we'd left. My peach margarita was EXCELLENT!!!
