Customer Reviews
We went to the library because we are a couple who work from home remotely from time to time. We need to get some papers printed. We felt like this was a better option than going to FedEx because the possibility of paying per page was probably cheaper. Lo and behold. When we got there, we did not need a library card and they even give us a guest pass. The guest pass allows you to have access to the computer and allows you to print up to 60 Pages free! Yes, I said it is 60 Pages FREE and after that, it's 15 cents per page. Although I didn't need more than 5 pages it was a beautiful alternative to Fedex. I thought this was amazing and we were able to get our papers printed. I was able to get some studying done. The library itself is nice and quiet Pleasant though. Like most parts of Sant
Staff are kind and helpful. There are rooms available to rent for small groups or study. A large room is available to rent for events. I like the large selections of materials available through the Libby and Hoopla apps.
I took my kids here when they were little and now I take the boy I nanny. Story time is fun and engaging. Lots of kids books, some bilingual! And tons of adult books of course. I always find something great. And the staff is so kind and helpful that's y
Every single time I've come here, not one chair is available. I live downtown and am disabled. I can't stand for very long. I need to sit to relieve the pain. Driving is also painful. The majority of the chairs - I mean all but one table last time with two people - - are being taken (all day pretty much) by homeless folks. If they were reading, that's fine, of course! But many of them aren't reading or using any library resource. They have the same rights to sit as long as they like and read, study, whatever, but to take chairs all day or many hours and not be using the library is frustrating for the elderly and disabled (if not everyone). My mom's 93. She gave up trying to go to this library a long time ago for the same reason. Could we possibly put several benches outside nearby o
Great staff. And yes, the "Homeless" are there(and everywhere in Santa Cruz), but the staff are not cops and are probably constrained by how much they can do. Still, it seems like someone who is passed-out in an aisle could be 'encouraged' to sleep elsewhere. Avoid the bathroom if you can. But I think this library is great, despite the "homeless" issue.
