Affordable, fast, and large portion. If you're looking to fill up on a meal and not spend as much, then this is the spot. I typically eat here when I'm very hungry and not so picky. The portions are huge for the price, and you can even add more meat for the extra protein. Most people will probably be good with a standard portion and still have some left over. The gyoza was a decent appetizer as well.

The food is good, but I’m pretty disappointed with the portion size. I ordered extra chicken on my chicken teriyaki, and it looks like they’re skimping even more now, especially after switching to smaller containers. I remember when the chicken used to completely cover the rice and vegetables—those days are long gone. Edit: The response confirms my suspicion that the small portion size for “extra chicken” is the new normal. This is rather unfortunate. Honestly, I would rather have seen steeper price increases than small price increases and a lesser quantity of food.

Sarku Japan at Westfield Oakridge Mall pleasantly surprised me despite my initial reservations about mall restaurants. The outdoor seating area is a nice touch, providing a comfortable dining space. Upon entering, we were promptly shown to our seats, but unfortunately, the service got off to a slow start, taking over 15 minutes to bring us water, even though there was only one more table they were serving. Improved service would be a welcome enhancement. Now, let's talk about the food. The noodles were the highlight of our visit, boasting exceptional flavors that exceeded our expectations. We sampled two different noodle dishes and a bun, all of which were super tasty and left us craving more. Worst meal I've had in a long while. Got a beef bento box. The California roll skimped on avocado and were very small. The beef was rubbery and dry. The food lacked flavor. The only thing going for this place was that the bento box was cheap

Sarku used to be the best, but not anymore! It’s getting worse!!! They don’t provide cup of water any longer now! What a rip off !!! Plus the last Asian dude who distribute the chickens truly have the worse attitude!!! Bad management! Going to Thai Kitchen or Cajun Grill next time!!!
