I happened to stumble upon this spot after shopping. Super cute spot. Only open from 5-9. I was the first one to arrive. Many people were helpful. I ordered the Lumpias which were yummy larger than I thought. When I usually see a restaurant calling lumpias "Shanghai", they are usually shorter or "bite-sized". So I was pleasantly surprised. I also ordered the Galbi Ribs. The ribs were cut slightly thicker than other Restaurants that offer Galbi Ribs. Which was nice. Marinated and grilled beautifully. Tasted like it was grilled over coals. (My preference.) The only thing though about having thicker cuts; you can only grill them for so long to not overcook and become tough, so there really isn’t enough time to render the fattier parts. We stumbled upon this place during their soft opening and were so excited to see it was a Hawaiian restaurant! The owners were extremely welcoming and showed us their limited menu offerings, as well as the full menu which will be available after their grand opening. One of the desserts on their full menu (grilled pineapple with ice cream) caught our eye and even though it wasn’t technically available yet, they made it happen for us anyway. Can’t wait to go back! 🤙🏼

This food was an unexpected delight when we stopped into AWOL for a drink. The food was phenomenal and the chef is a great guy. We had lumpia, kahlua pork, and chicken katsu. Some of the best I’ve had all around. I highly recommend! Tip: go to the back patio for a beautiful patio dining experience.
