Scarsdale Bagels

The mother bagel. Bagels genuinely incomparable to any shop I’ve found in the tri-state. I’ve been coming here for 15 years — same folks, same unbelievably tasty bagels, quality cream cheese, great locks, and wonderful vibes. Great prices too. Whole wheat everything, everything, cinnamon raisin, poppy seed.. just unreal. I see a couple reviews complaining about this place, and I can only deduce they’re left by folks who aren’t New Yorkers or folks who just fundamentally don’t get how a bagel is supposed to taste. For the record, you’re not supposed to toast the bagels, you’re supposed to eat them fresh, UNLESS they’re a couple days old and so toasting them is used to REVIVE the bagel freshness. Stopped by hoping for a classic toasted everything bagel with egg and cheese only to find out they don’t toast bagels, don’t offer eggs or cheese, and only carry whole or skim milk. I went with a bagel and cream cheese instead, but the spread was so light I had to check if it was there. Cute spot, prime location but missing some breakfast essentials!

Bagel is quite small compared to a typical NY bagel, more dense than fluffy. The amount of cream cheese was very light in my opinion. This store does not serve hot sandwiches such as eggs and bacon, only cream cheese butter and jelly. Not much to offer as far as cream cheese only plain and 2 other flavors. The woman who made my bagel seemed quite unhappy. The man who cashed me out was nice. $3.70 for a bagel with cream cheese and tomato is a steal. CASH ONLY.

Stopped on a recommendation from 2 different local families. Yes, it is just a bagel shop, not a restaurant. But the bagels were fresh, and tasted great. $7.50 for 6, and ca$h only. Took my garlic bagel home, added vegan chive cream cheese and ebtb seasoning and some fruits and veg. Was great.

It is a convenient place to grab a quick food and coffee, but some workers are rude. A lady was just leaning on the wall watching her phone for a while after I walked in. When she gave me my order, she threw the bread on the table.
