Scotties on The River

I come here weekly and sometimes multiple times within a week. If your salmon was over cooked, you must let them fix it. I almost always order salmon as you can see below and it’s never been well done. Either way things happen… The staff are always more than glad to fix something if you would have let them. Last, I wasn’t paid to give this review. The only motivation I have in posting this is the weird rage I saw you present to the staff. I will always take up for this incredible staff and their service.

Really beautiful restaurant on the river downtown with gorgeous views and pretty darn good food! The hush puppies, corn and bacon hush puppies and cornbread were darned great! The blackened shrimp and baked potato were delicious and my daughter’s loaded baked potato soup was decadent as well. They have a separate area where they have live music monthly but you need a reservation for that. Really great place for a weekend lunch.

Always a lovely experience, well-rounded and delightful. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is always spot on and pleasant with a good attitude. Atmosphere is spot on with great views of the river and tons of natural light. When the weather is steady and decent, they open the floor to ceiling bay doors and the atmosphere ambiance is even better.

My wife and I chose Scotties for supper on our last day in Chattanooga and it was fantastic!! We ordered the “Not your ordinary cheese balls” for an appetizer and they were really good….the complimentary hush puppies and corn bread were a welcome treat. My wife ordered the 6oz filet, loaded baked potato and house salad with ranch. I opted for the 16oz ribeye with marsala, loaded baked potato and house salad with ranch….the ranch dressing is thick and very tasty. The steaks were juicy, very flavorful and were cooked to perfection. We couldn’t have been any more pleased with our meal at Scotties and the staff were very sweet and helpful!. Five stars all the way!!!!

We had a late dinner around 9 PM, and there were still quite a lot of people eating. We wanted to sit at the table near the river view, but the waitress didn’t allow us, saying that area had no server. The bisquick and hush puppies were a bit salty, and the meal portions were quite small. The fried calamari was really good — tasty and not chewy at all, we loved it! The salmon was slightly overcooked and too dry, while the fish and chips were just average. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, even though we couldn’t sit by the river. The service was okay — not too fast but friendly. It’s a decent place for a casual dinner, especially if you’re in the area.
