Seaside Branch - Monterey County Free Libraries

Absolutely LOVE this library! The kindest main librarians. Kids are very welcome at this library. The children corner is inviting with a bunch of children’s height tables, two computers with kids learning games, buckets of toys and a play carpet, plus if you ask the librarian for the big buckets of toys you can get marble run, Dino tracks and other sets. There’s also an arts and crafts station available all open hours but the best are the crafternoons! My kids GO NUTS at Crafternoons.

My son has gotten into reading this past year and having a library 2 blocks away is very convenient. We leave with a good handful of books to read and walk back to return and check out more books. They have computers for the public to use.

This is a very clean, well organized library, the staff is very friendly. My 15 months old baby girl loves to play in the kids area, while she plays I enjoy a nice book as well ☺️. There are computers for kids so they can also enjoy a reading books 📚. This is a very nice place to be!!

I had an incredible experience with this library especially thanks to Dave Tavarez. I called looking for an old newspaper article from the 1990s that held deep personal meaning for me. Without hesitation, Dave took the time to listen, understand what I needed, and search until he found it. What he didn’t know is that I have serious difficulty walking due to a neurological condition, so just making that call was hard enough. But he made it easy. He treated my request with care, respect, and real dedication. This wasn’t just customer service , it was human kindness. Dave reminded me that libraries are more than buildings with books; they are places where people truly help people. I’m grateful beyond words. This kind of service is rare, and it deserves to be recognized. Thank you again Dave
