Customer Reviews
I have supported Serious Dogs since the day they opened and have always had 5-star experiences until today. I placed an online order at 2pm but had to call the shop because the website doesn't allow for veggie dog substitutions or notes. It took 6 calls to get through, and when a staff member finally answered, I was met with a lot of attitude. As a long-time regular who knows the owners, it was really disappointing to be treated like an inconvenience for a simple request. I love the food here, but the customer service today was definitely not up to the standard I've come to expect from this great local spot. Hopefully, the website gets an update and the phone manners improve!
In town for business and craving a hot dog (and not some crappy chain…). I’m glad I read the reviews. Nice bar with good food. I got a coney dog and a Chicago style dog. All beef, perfectly done with that nice “snap” when you bite it. Not the best coney I’ve ever had, but quite good (some reviewers lamented the price, I think it is worth it). Interestingly enough, they use grilled Texas toast for buns-which works well, and is a nice “different” touch. Fries were good, beer was cold. I wouldn’t recommend the poutine; I got a side of gravy for my fries and it was pretty flavorless. Overall, very good-I’d go back. Server was knowledgeable and pleasant.
Stopped for lunch and enjoyed a couple of dogs and some cheese fries. There is a weekend special where you can get 2 dogs, a large fry, and a drink for $20, and we added an extra drink on and a cheese sauce for fries for $24. Not bad for the amount of food you get. The dogs were beefy and quite thick, and the grilled bread was a great touch. The fries were super crispy, seasoned well, and the cheese sauce was great with the fries. The service is great and our food came out quickly.
First time going there and was disappointed. Failed to make order correct, and yes it was a basic order - nothing being changed from the menu. That can be typical of any food establishment, but then the size of their smash patties were ridiculous. I paid 12$ for 2 smash patties that were smaller than the ones you would see on a basic McDonald’s cheeseburger. Maybe this is due to inflation? They also have no consideration to the music volume when you are in the back of the room. Someone turned on music and had it playing so loud from the speaker right by our table that we couldn’t even converse anymore. It felt like it was their way of telling us to leave - even though we made zero complaints about our food or service. We were just trying to enjoy ourselves. Maybe this was a one off but I w
I was really disappointed with my experience here. I had to wait 30 minutes past when my order was supposed to be ready, even though I don’t live far from the restaurant. When I finally got home, the food was cold, like it had been sitting there for a while. On top of that, the kids' hot dog meal I ordered had a ripped bun, and hardly any french fries. The waitress also didn’t check my receipt, and I almost got shorted a $2.99 small fountain pop if I hadn’t spoken up. To make things worse, the parking setup is unsafe—so close to the street that it’s hard to see when pulling out. This place really needs to improve its service speed, food quality, accuracy, and parking situation.
